Tarylynn v1.8.304 [1.5M] W9x/2k/XP FREE http://www.mywebattack.com/gnomeapp.php?id=105913

Tarylynn synchronizes two folders and all subfolders within. It is useful for making a quick backup to a network drive, or for copying files to a laptop. The program is very easy to use; just select the two folders to compare and choose to copy a folder from the left to the right, or vice versa. You can also delete files that are not contained in one of the folders. The differences can be previewed, so you'll know beforehand what files will be processed.

(XP) Themer v1.2 [321k] WXP FREE With XP Themer I can add Windows XP themes to any program on the
system whether it was coded to support it or not. I case you were
wondering... no, XP Themer doesn't alter any of the application's
program files so you don't have to worry about it permanently damaging
any programs. Every XP Themed program is added to a history list so it
is very easy to untheme a program if it is giving you fits or you just
decide you don't want it themed anymore. XP Themer also comes with a
Turbo Mode that allows you to apply and unapply themes to an entire
directory or drive.

TopIt Basic

While you're multitasking, do you sometimes wish you could keep a particular window always open? TopIt lets you do exactly that, by allowing you to make any window stay "always on top" of all other windows on the screen. This can be done manually, or you can set certain windows to stay put whenever they appear.

TrayBar v1.0 [62k] W9x/2k/XP FREE With TrayBar you can make your own program launch menu that sits in
the systray. If you are a computer clean-freak, like me, then you will
appreciate that you can create sub-menus in the system. TrayBar also
lets you control the state of how each program opens. If you want
Notepad to open in a maximized state then just configure it in the
configuration menu. TrayBar is a simple yet effective way of
organizing your quick launch programs.

Tray Wizard v4.02 [348k] W9x/2k/XP FREE http://www.traywizard.com/

{System tray management} Tray Wizard is another utility (for organized people) for gaining greater control over the system tray. Put the icons in a preferred order, end a session by clicking on the magic wand icon for options, and set up hot keys. While working with most open applications, right-click the mouse and select Tray Wizard to boot the application into the system tray family with its own icon instead of the task bar. Launch applications or open folders from the tray menu, and remove icons not in use. If you're used to right-clicking the task bar and selecting "Close" from the bottom of the menu, get ready to change your habit, since Tray Wizard now occupies the bottom rung. No worries about spilling this tray and making a mess

TreePad

is a very intuitive, slim yet powerful database program. It allows you to store all your notes, emails, texts, hyperlinks, etc. into a single file. With the look and feel of the familiar Windows explorer, editing, storing, browsing, searching and retrieving your data can not be easier!
TreePad can be run directly from a floppy, if necessary, including data. To find any article you previously created or imported, you can browse the tree, in the same way as you browse directories/folders in the Windows explorer. You can also use the internal search engine.
Other features: show in system tray, backup data, hyperlinks to TreePad nodes, Web documents, email addresses, newsgroups, files on harddisk, drag-and-drop, import/export, etc.

TreePad runs on Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, XP and NT.
To get an impression of the program, please see this Screenshot.
For additional information, documentation and free TreePad utilities, you can visit the TreePad Web site, at www.treePad.com
TreeSize v1.63 [331k] W9x/2k/XP Mailware http://www.jam-software.com/software.shtml

{Analyzing hard drive space} In the past, readers have asked how to quickly view folder sizes. TreeSize provides that capability so that you know what is taking up hard drive space. When opening subfolders just like you do in Explorer, the sizes appear. You can view or print the results of space wasted by the file system. You'll notice that the cost information for this piece of software says "mailware;" mailware means that if you decide to use the program, you must send the author an e-mail or a postcard including the version number of your copy, where you found it, and problems (if you had any).

TurboNavigator v1.46
  • 869K
  • Win9x/2k/XP
  • FREE

http://www.woundedmoon.org/win32/turbonavigator.html

{Customizable file manager} Opening this program gave me a deja vu moment as the file manager resembles the old Windows file manager from, I believe, 3.11. Those who don't like the current Windows file explorer will find this one worth checking out. It has a two-paned window where each pane can be opened to any directory without having an impact on the other. Its menu provides quick access to display properties, the media player, and system properties. Files can be viewed, edited, encrypted / decrypted from within TurboNavigator.

Ultimate Boot You need the Ultimate Boot CD if you want to:

Run floppy-based diagnostic tools from CDROM drives. More and more PCs are shipped without floppy drives these days, and it is such a royal pain when you need to run diagnostic tools on them.

Free yourself from the slow loading speed of the floppy drive. Even if you do have a floppy drive, it is still much much faster to run your diagnostic tools from the CDROM drive, rather than wait for the tool to load from the floppy drive.

Consolidate as many diagnostic tools as possible into one bootable CD. Wouldn't you like to avoid digging into the dusty box to look for the right floppy disk, but simply run them all from a single CD? Then the Ultimate Boot CD is for you!

Ultimate Boot Disk v4.3i

If you find yourself having to start your computer from a boot disk, you need as much help as you can get. This utility will give you an extra boost by including more information than you would otherwise have using Windows' boot disk. With it, you can edit your Registry, restore your system files, and identify system hardware. You can even save your BIOS settings and save or restore master boot records.

Note: Windows 95 and 98 users should download 98UBD.exe; Windows ME users should download MEUBD.exe.

UniqueDisplay v1.0 [47k] WXP FREE http://www.mywebattack.com/gnomeapp.php?id=106257

If you change your monitor resolution under Windows XP, it gets changed for every user on the computer, forcing you to either reset your favorite resolution each time, or agree on a common solution. UniqueDisplay takes care of these shortcomings, allowing each user to have their own desktop resolution. The program supports multi-monitor configurations and fast user switching. There is no interface; the program installs to run automatically at startup. When you log in, it will automatically reset the resolution to your previous configuration; there is a small delay and your desktop items are still re-arranged, but at least you don't have to change the settings manually.

WinVNC This networking utility lets you view and control another computer remotely. VNC is platform independent; for example, a desktop running on a Linux machine may be displayed on a PC, a Solaris machine, or any number of other architectures. There are two parts to this application--a viewer and a server. The viewer can be run as a stand-alone application or as a Java applet. VNC is also sharable--one desktop can be displayed and used by several viewers at once.   go to download site

Washee! v1.2 [798k] W9x/2k/XP FREE http://www.washee.com/washee/products.asp

{Windows dry cleaner} Take your data to the dry cleaners and use Washee to get out all the stains and annoyances under the guise of cookies, history, Recycle Bin, folders, auto-complete entries, and temp files. Get rid of the stains leftover from Internet surfing, which leaves traces of information on the PC. If you have a special detergent you wish to create and use that doesn't come with the program, you can do it in the Custom Cleaner machine. The cleaner can start at Windows startup or live in the system tray. Washee is available to start automatically on browser exit, Windows start, and Windows shutdown. To do it manually, select the options and then push the Wash Now button - no coins required. At least this laundry doesn't need folding or ironing!

Whej Startup Manager v1.0 [259k] W9x/2k/XP FREE Whej Startup Manager can help to remove the chance of causing damage
to your operating system while removing startup programs from the
Registry by giving you a more direct route to the part of the Registry
that stores this information. Whej Startup Manager sits in the systray
and with a single-click of the mouse you have access to the user and
system startup folders or in the Run and Runonce areas of the
Registry. With this application you don't just have to remove the
program from system startup, you can disable it instead so that you
can enable the program later if needed. Disabling and enabling a
program from system startup is as simple as right-clicking it.

Windows Configurator v0.6

Many of us are happy with Windows just the way it is, while others need the added security functions that are usually found by venturing into the hazardous terrain of the Registry. Windows Configurator lets you do things like hide Start menu items and restrict access to your network, without your having to take unnecessary chances with your system's stability. Security options include the ability to hide and disable icons on the desktop and the ability to prevent users from accessing Control Panel items and hard drives.

Options that let you change the appearance of your desktop include changing My Computer, Recycle Bin, Control Panel, and Printer system icons. You can also change Internet Explorer's title bars and the background of its toolbar.

Window Shades v2.0 [942k] W98/ME/XP FREE http://www.g-m-m.com/Software/WindowShades/index.php

{Pop up filter} Pull the shades on those @()#*$ popups with Window Shades, an Internet Explorer plug-in that filters all popup windows, and on a domain (site) basis. For example, Lockergnome.com has many URLs to the different parts of its site. You can tell Window Shades to allow all pages from Lockergnome.com to funnel through. Or, if there is a page you won't want, you can specifically list the complete URL to avoid getting the page. Enter the URLs for the sites you never want to come through and they're forever banned from your view in Internet Explorer. (Users who rely on Netscape, Mozilla, and Opera or use Windows 95, 2000, or NT can't benefit from the program.) To quickly turn the program on and off, create custom shortcut keys. The program launches and closes automatically with Internet Explorer. When you first build the domain filters, there's a prompt dialog box for each pop up window. However, it's optional and can be turned off. The program can sit in the system tray or be hidden. It's up to you. In my case, it should be called "Window Blinds" since I have nary a curtain in the house, with no time to decorate the house more than necessary... plus I don't have an eye for it

WipeOut v1.0.3.1 [645k] W98/2k/XP FREE http://www.mywebattack.com/gnomeapp.php?id=106492

WipeOut is a system cleanup tool for advanced users. It allows you to wipe the free space on a selected drive; delete cookies, Internet history, browser cache, temporary files, and more. You can specify custom registry keys, add custom folder locations for wiping, save selected cookies, and delete locked files after reboot. It offers one-click cleaning based on four security levels, and can be automated from the command line. WipeOut is intended for advanced users; it does not provide documentation

Windows Memory Diagnostic [640k] W9x/2k/XP FREE http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

{Test RAM for errors} The utility includes memory tests to test the computer's RAM (random access memory) for errors. If you are experiencing problems while running Windows, you can use the diagnostic to determine whether the problems are caused by failing hardware, such as RAM or the memory system of the motherboard. To run Windows Memory Diagnostic, you must reboot your computer with the disk or CD-ROM on which you installed Windows Memory Diagnostic in the drive. After the reboot, Windows Memory Diagnostic loads and its interface appears. After loading, the first test pass begins, using the default standard test suite, and continues until complete, unless Windows Memory Diagnostic pauses or exits. Once the first test pass is complete, Windows Memory Diagnostic will begin a second test pass using the same settings as before. Windows Memory Diagnostic will continue to run test passes until you exit. I suggest pressing "T" as soon as it starts so it can do the full diagnostic, unless you don't want to do it. I had it do the simple diagnostic and then pressed "T" to do the full, which did the simple ones again. Save time, and go right to the full diagnostic.

Windowpaper XP v1.01 [2.1M] WinXP FREE  http://www.sodabush.com/products/windowpaperxp/index.php

{Wallpaper control} Change is usually good. However, if you're like me and you like being able to give a custom look to every imaginable facet of your system, it was a bit of a letdown when Win XP came along. In Windows 98 (and on up 'til XP), a user had the ability to change the wallpaper of each folder as well as the text color of the icons in that folder. This allowed each folder to be more readily identifiable, not to mention more 'custom' in appearance. But for inexplicable reasons, when Win XP rolled out, this customization was (for the most part) removed by MS. Enter Windowpaper XP: it provides a simple to use and pretty slick interface that, again, allows you to set a custom wallpaper for your folder(s).

WinRAM Turbo Free

Release allocated memory that has been fragmented and left behind when applications have been shut down. This program eliminates trash build up, keeps memory free and clean, and ends inefficient or sporadic memory access as seen when switching among concurrent running applications. This is a limited, featured version of the other WinRamTurbo products. It is preview software showing some of the features of RAM management. Additional features are available in the shareware versions.

XP User Display Settings v2.0 [21k] WXP FREE {Change screen resolution} With this program, you can set a different Windows XP display setting for each user, but the difference is that you can do it from a graphical interface. You can even use this program as a quick way to change resolution by un-checking the "Apply at each logon" checkbox, as this will cause your resolution to reset after a system restart. Just place the program in a directory that is accessible by all your users, and then run the program for each person's logon to save their resolution. Now everyone in your family can have their own preferred screen resolution, and it will only take you a couple of minutes to set it all up - painlessly!
