{Internet radio player} Who needs to remember to bring a radio or CDs to work to pass the long day when you can listen to Internet radio? In my case, I prefer CDs to radio because I at least know what's playing on a CD. But, I'm in the minority. The program has over 750 pre-tuned Internet radio stations from around the world. The stream information provides artist, song title, and the quality of stream. In this case, I might be able to enjoy it since I would know what's playing. I hate it when I hear a song that sounds good, but have no clue as to the name or artist. Same goes for a bad song (so I can avoid it like the plague). With 750+ stations, you may want to create a list of favorite stations, and this capability is included. Is that not enough?!?!? You wild person, you! Use the auto-scan to find more station links.

Visual CD is a disk-cataloging tool to index data CDs, floppy disks, hard drives and even folders. Once indexed, you can explore the CD catalogs, and search files and folders without having the physical disk in the drive. A built-in favorites manager allows you to easily manage multiple catalogs, and a powerful search feature lets you search across multiple catalogs. The program comes with several additional options, you can split files into smaller pieces, extract ZIP, RAR, and CAB archives, rename files, copy the entire CD to a new location, and more. Visual CD provides a clean and attractive interface and optional Explorer integration from the right-click menu

{Image browser} Visualizer is a small full-screen viewer with a simple and crisp interface, using the most basic features to manage your photos and create slide shows with music. The program can open ten image formats. When opening an image, the program grabs all the images from the same folder and lists them in the drop-down box for browsing. Visualizer generates HTML thumbnails, sets up a slideshow with timer and MP3 support, imports screen captures, edits and optimizes images, and manipulates images by resizing, inverting, flipping, blurring, and adding brightness. A couple of peeves: when using the program, the Windows Quick Launch and Task Bars disappear and you must Alt + Tab out of the program to access them. To capture a screen shot using Visualizer, the desired screen needs to be the next item in line to grab it. If you have five programs open when you click on Screen Capture, it goes to the previous program or screen used. The Web page generator is tables-based, which is slowly going away to be replaced with CSS / XHTML. Tables-based pages are difficult to read on voice browsers, PDAs, cell phones, and text browsers. Tables are meant to hold data, not pictures or Web page layouts. If you want to know more about this, check the Web Standards Project Web site. Now, off my soapbox. Since this is "the little image browser that could," it quickly generates a Web page of thumbnails. One hitch: when you click on a thumbnail to see a larger version of the image, you have to use the Back button to get back to the thumbnails. It's a good tool for folks who want a simple tool to manage images, create slide shows, and build Web pages with the images.

WorldTV allows you to view Internet-enabled TV stations around the globe. You can select from a list by country and view the live stream using Windows Media Player. You can maintain a list of favorite stations and also add your own. In addition to viewing the live stream, you can also choose to record the broadcast and even use the built-in timer to schedule it.

This program can come to the rescue and dig up the lost photo-souls. Zero Assumption serves the same purpose and works with any media type (CompactFlash, SmartMedia, and Memory Stick, for example) accessible through Windows. How can photos be recovered when they've been deleted or pulled a disappearing act? It's possible because when "deleting," cameras typically delete references to photos - not the photos themselves - meaning the photos are still in memory, but not accessible through the usual methods. Non-standard methods like this program can recover images as long as no new data was written over them. Buy a used camera? Use the program to see what was on it *grin*. Selling a used camera? Better delete those old images and write new image data over them.
