{Record speech} Short for Scanner Recorder, the program is an audio recorder for recording speech. It has a VOX control for saving disk space when no sound is present in the signal. Apparently, FM communications has an effective squelch, therefore the recorder works well with FM. However, Scanrec's VOX gate may have trouble getting HF ham bands and World Band radio because they have a poor signal to noise ratio. The program was created for recording radio communications, channels with little activities, air traffic control recording, dictation, and broadcast radio / TV. To start recording, click File > Open > and assign a file name for the file you're about to record. It's confusing to open a file when you're creating a file, but once you get past this, the rest is easy to figure out with the help of the FAQ. SlickView is a small image viewer and HTML thumbnail page generator with support for popular image formats (GIF, JPG, PCX, PNG, TGA, TIF). The HTML thumbnail page is plain and simple, but can be customized completely to use your own design. The quality of the thumbnails is very good and the size can be adjusted. Image viewing capabilities are basic, but it offers conversion among all supported formats, so you can use it to convert BMP to JPG, etc. Additional features include command line support and keyboard navigation for image browsing. SplitCam is a virtual video capture driver that allows you to connect multiple applications to a single video capture source. Normally, you can only have one program use the source (like your webcam), and you'll receive an error when you try to connect from another application. SplitCam splits the video stream coming from the video source and provides it to other client applications.
