ax reform continues to be an issue in Maine. A Maine Supreme Court decision on May 4, 2006 paved the way for the initiative to appear before voters on the November 7 ballot. It will be a straight up or down vote without a competing legislative measure.

  Maine Center for Economic Policy. An independent, nonpartisan research organization. Homepage includes a link to an Information On TABOR page that is predominantly non-favorable to the proposal.

  Citizen's United to Protect Our Public Safety, Schools and Communities' page includes links to outside resources and online news articles favoring opposition.

  Democracy Maine: Maine Voices Against Extremism. The homepage links to several recent Lewiston Sun-Journal news articles and one from the Maine Sunday Telegram. 

  Maine Heritage Policy Center - A conservative public policy organization. The Maine View  publication on their website contains articles in support of TABOR.

  Maine Municipal Association's webpage on TABOR.

  Taxpayer Bill of Rights site - Includes legal briefs, FAQs, info on petition initiator Mary Adams, news, and other pro-TABOR information.
  

• Maine Residents Property Tax and Rent Refund Program For Property Tax Assessed in 2005

If you were a Maine resident during at least 12 months of 2005 and owned a home or are a renter for the year's period and make less then $77,0000 during that time period and did not rent out the premises, you may be entitled to a refund.
